Dearbhla Kelly M.A. began practicing yoga in 1994 while studying at the University of Amsterdam. In 2001 she moved to Chicago from her hometown of Dublin to earn a Ph.D in philosophy. She began teaching at Moksha Yoga in Chicago in 2003 and in 2006 relocated to Los Angeles, where  Yogaworks  is her home base.

She is particularly interested in the intersection of  yoga, philosophy and neuroscience. Her teaching marries the more esoteric credos of yoga with modern scientific insights and the practicalities of everyday life in a humorous and accessible manner. Her writing has appeared in Yoga Journal, The Huffington Post, Elephant Journal, Origin Magazine and numerous other publications. Her warmth and keen intelligence augment her teaching style, while her lilting Irish accent and Dublin wit make her classes uniquely enjoyable.
